Veolia Water New Jersey has signed an agreement to acquire the Manalapan Township Water System, following a 2024 public referendum in which 67 per cent of voters approved the sale. The system currently serves approximately 3,500 households and businesses.
Pending approval from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, the acquisition is expected to close by the end of 2025. Veolia, which has operated the system since 1995, plans to invest in critical infrastructure upgrades, including water main and valve replacements, storage tank restoration, and the construction of a new drinking water treatment facility.
