PhilaPort has begun construction of the new PhilaPort Cruise Terminal, a 16-acre facility adjacent to Philadelphia International Airport. The terminal is scheduled to open in April 2026 and will serve as a dedicated homeport for seasonal cruise operations.
PhilaPort and Energy Transfer Marketing and Terminals finalized the property agreement for the site in Tinicum Township. PhilaPort will manage marine-side improvements, while Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) will lead land-side construction under a seven-year berthing agreement from April 2026 through March 2033. NCLH plans an initial commitment of 41 sailings per year.
The project will redevelop the former Hog Island Dock Terminal Facility and establish new berthing and passenger-handling areas.
The terminal is expected to support regional tourism activity and create direct and indirect jobs across associated service sectors. The facility will operate as Philadelphia’s primary cruise gateway once completed.
