The Town of Jamestown, Rhode Island has partnered with Veolia North America under a three-year agreement to operate its water treatment plant, which supplies 350,000 gallons of drinking water daily to approximately 1,600 homes and businesses.
Veolia began operating the facility in January 2025 and immediately implemented safety and infrastructure improvements. Crews installed electronic meter reading systems and constructed new access structures to eliminate fall hazards and improve employee safety.
To address long-standing staffing shortages, Veolia deployed three certified full-time operators and committed to training Jamestown’s union staff for water treatment certification. The company also draws on its regional workforce to support evolving operational needs.
Veolia manages water and wastewater systems throughout southeastern New England and will apply its regional expertise to maintain service reliability in Jamestown.
