Jacobs has been awarded a multi-year contract by the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) to support delivery of the city’s “Choose How You Move” mobility program. The engagement will provide architecture, engineering, and data-driven planning services across a range of transportation projects.

The program includes construction of 86 miles of new sidewalks, modernization of nearly 600 traffic signals, and development of 54 miles of enhanced transportation corridors. It also includes implementation of dedicated transit lanes and improvements to multimodal infrastructure to support pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit users.

Funding for the program comes from Nashville’s voter-approved transit referendum, which supports long-term investment in citywide mobility infrastructure. Specific contract value details were not disclosed.

Jacobs will serve as a strategic consultant, delivering design, engineering, and analytics services. The company will use real-time mobility data to support deployment of adaptive traffic signal systems and optimize traffic operations across high-demand corridors.

NDOT will oversee program implementation, with project delivery occurring across multiple phases over several years. Jacobs will support planning, design, environmental compliance, and community engagement activities.

The program aims to reduce congestion, improve traffic safety, and expand connectivity between neighborhoods and key destinations, including employment centers, schools, and public services.
