The State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) Board has approved $26 million in grants and low-interest loans through the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB). The funding will support 22 transportation projects across the state, including 20 roadway improvements and two airport hangar developments.
Among the largest awards, Bryan County received more than $2.1 million to widen a section of Belfast Keller Road serving Belfast Commerce Park. Bartow County secured a combined $3.3 million loan and grant package to widen Cass-White Road near a growing industrial corridor. Other funded projects include bridge replacements, roundabout construction, pedestrian improvements, and local road resurfacing.
The airport awards will support the construction of new aircraft hangars in Brantley County and at Jekyll Island Airport. The projects aim to expand aircraft storage capacity and accommodate growing aviation demand.
GTIB funds transportation capital improvements through state grants and low-interest loans. Since 2010, the program has awarded approximately $272 million and supported more than $1.3 billion in transportation infrastructure projects statewide. SRTA has also opened applications for the fiscal year 2027 funding cycle.
