Sound Transit has selected AECOM to deliver design, environmental, and project and construction management services under multiple-award task order contracts supporting transit projects across the Seattle metropolitan region.
The contracts are part of a program expected to generate approximately $1 billion in engineering services over a five-year period. Sound Transit issued 19 multiple-award task order contracts to support new transit facilities, system upgrades, and state-of-good-repair work across the regional network.
AECOM will serve as the prime contractor for the design MATOC. The firm will lead civil and structural engineering services from preliminary engineering through full design development. The company will also support project and construction management activities across Sound Transit’s capital programs.
Under a separate environmental services contract, AECOM will act as a subconsultant. The work includes systemwide planning, environmental investigations, assessments, and regulatory clearance activities for new and renewal projects.
Sound Transit will issue individual task orders during the contract period, with specific contract values assigned as projects move forward. The work supports the agency’s Sound Transit 3 capital program, a long-term initiative to expand regional transit capacity and improve system reliability.
