The Gateway Development Commission (GDC) has awarded MPA Delivery Partners — a joint venture of Mace, Parsons Corporation, and Arcadis — a $665 million, 4.5-year contract extension to continue managing the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). The project is a core component of the Gateway Program and one of the most significant rail infrastructure efforts in the United States.

The HTP includes construction of a new two-tube rail tunnel under the Hudson River, rehabilitation of a 115-year-old existing tunnel, and nine miles of new passenger rail track between New York and New Jersey. The upgrades aim to improve reliability and capacity on the Northeast Corridor for Amtrak and NJ Transit.

Construction is on schedule, with the new tunnel expected to open in 2035 and rehabilitation work to be completed by 2038. The project is projected to create more than 95,000 jobs and generate $19 billion in economic activity nationwide.
