Wisconsin will invest $14 million in federal funds to build 26 new electric vehicle fast-charging stations. The grants come from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program.
The selected locations include 11 Kwik Trip sites, several hotels, and other service stations. Sites are located across the state, from Superior to East Troy. WisDOT selected projects based on access, operating hours, and corridor coverage.
This round increases Wisconsin’s total NEVI-supported investment to $36.4 million for 78 projects. The first round, announced in 2024, funded 52 stations. Eleven are operational, 16 are approved for construction, and the rest remain in design.
The statewide plan places chargers along 15 interstate, U.S., and state highway corridors. Wisconsin reports more than 37,000 registered EVs.
