WisDOT has released more than $151.6 million in first-quarter 2026 payments to counties and municipalities for local road and highway improvements statewide.

The funding supports construction, maintenance, and operations on locally owned roads, connecting state highways within municipalities, and expressway policing. The payments draw from the state’s 2025–27 transportation budget and represent the first quarterly distribution for calendar year 2026.

General Transportation Aids account for $142.6 million distributed to local governments. Connecting Highway Aids total $4.26 million for eligible municipalities, while Expressway Policing Aids provide $4.76 million to Milwaukee County for expressway patrol costs.

Local governments will receive additional quarterly payments throughout the year. Cities, villages, and towns receive payments in January, April, July, and October, while counties receive installments in January, July, and October.
