Walmart is expanding electric vehicle fast-charging installations across parking lots at stores in 19 states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and New Jersey.

The project involves installing EV fast-charging stations at Walmart and Sam’s Club locations nationwide. The company first announced the initiative in 2023 and plans to build out a coast-to-coast charging network by 2030.

Walmart will implement the installations at existing retail sites, with chargers located within store parking areas. The company added more than 75 “coming soon” charging locations to its website in late 2025, signaling near-term construction activity at dozens of stores.

The expansion increases public access to EV charging in rural, suburban, and urban areas. The project benefits Walmart customers, Sam’s Club members, local communities, and EV drivers by adding convenient charging options near retail destinations.
