Vantage Data Centers has announced contractors for the planned $15 billion Lighthouse data center campus in Port Washington, Wisconsin. The privately funded project, part of the OpenAI–Oracle–SoftBank Stargate initiative, will expand US AI infrastructure and is scheduled for completion in 2028.

The $8 billion first phase is expected to include four data center buildings on 672 acres within a 1,900-acre site west of Interstate 43. The construction team named includes Whiting-Turner Contracting Co., The Weitz Co., a Turner Construction–McCarthy Building Cos. joint venture, and Michels.

Vantage and the Wisconsin Building Trades Council have pledged to employ local union labor. Construction activity is expected to require a peak workforce of about 4,000 skilled workers over three years and support roughly 1,000 long-term jobs once operational.

The campus will use renewable energy from new solar, wind, and battery storage capacity, with 70% allocated to the site and 30% serving Wisconsin consumers. Vantage plans to implement a closed-loop cooling system to minimize water use and will pursue LEED certification. Site plans also preserve open space with more than 2,000 native trees.
