USDA Rural Utilities Service has awarded the National Rural Water Association (NRWA) a new five-year contract for the Circuit Rider Technical Assistance Program. The program provides operational, financial, and managerial support to small and rural drinking water and wastewater systems across the United States and Puerto Rico.
NRWA administers the program through a nationwide network of Circuit Riders who assist local utilities with regulatory compliance, water treatment operations, loan applications, reporting requirements, and infrastructure management. The technical assistance program supports rural communities that often face staffing, funding, and operational challenges in maintaining water and wastewater systems.
USDA Rural Utilities Service provides funding each year for rural water and waste infrastructure projects. The Circuit Rider program operates in all 50 states and Puerto Rico and serves as a long-running technical support resource for rural utility systems.
