The Port of Los Angeles has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Shenzhen Port Group and Yantian International Container Terminals to strengthen cooperation on sustainable port operations, maritime innovation, and global supply chain development.
The agreement establishes a formal sister port partnership between the Port of Los Angeles and Shenzhen, one of the world’s busiest container port complexes. The partners will collaborate on green technologies, clean energy, port operations, maritime logistics, and supply chain optimization.
The MOU also outlines cooperation through technical exchanges, research and demonstration projects, business development initiatives, workforce engagement, and the sharing of operational best practices. The organizations will work together to advance green port technologies, improve trade facilitation, and support maritime workforce development.
The agreement was signed during the Shenzhen Port Global Supply Chain High-Quality Development Conference, where international port authorities and industry stakeholders also launched the Shenzhen Port International Green Shipping Corridor Cooperation Initiative. The initiative seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by promoting cleaner marine fuels, advanced technologies, operational efficiencies, and greater international collaboration.
