The Ohio Department of Development has awarded $5.75 million in federal Community Development Block Grant funding to 14 communities across 13 counties. The grants will support water and sewer infrastructure upgrades, accessibility improvements, and downtown building rehabilitations.

Key awards include:

  • Athens, Ross, Trumbull, and Portage Counties: Each receiving $750,000 for wastewater or water system upgrades.
  • Frazeysburg (Muskingum County): $685,000 for water treatment plant improvements.
  • Champaign, Fulton, Licking, Putnam Counties: Each receiving $250,000 for downtown building rehabilitation.
  • Additional grants support public facility improvements in Madison, Clark, Hancock, and Guernsey counties.

Projects address aging infrastructure, failing septic systems, and economic revitalization needs in low- and moderate-income areas.
