The National Telecommunications and Information Administration has recommended nine broadband projects for funding totaling approximately $6.5 million. The awards fall under the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program’s Equitable Distribution funding category.

The funding supports broadband deployment and access improvements in Tribal communities nationwide. The Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program provides federal funding authorized by Congress and administered by NTIA.

NTIA plans to hold Tribal consultations on January 13 and January 20, 2026. The consultations will inform planned changes to Tribal broadband funding programs and future grant structures.

The agency is also preparing program changes that would consolidate elements of the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program and the Digital Equity Act Tribal set-aside under a new funding notice.
