New York has released $30 million in new funding for its Drive Clean Rebate program, which offers up to $2,000 off the purchase or lease of over 60 new electric vehicle models at the point of sale. The rebate is available statewide through participating dealerships.
The state is also expanding its Charge Ready NY 2.0 initiative by raising Level 2 charger installation incentives to $3,000 per port—and up to $4,000 in disadvantaged communities. Over 1,000 chargers were installed through the program last year.
To further improve charging access, the New York Power Authority is advancing the EVolve NY network, which currently includes 240 fast chargers at 56 locations along major corridors. Construction is also underway on a 12-charger site at LaGuardia Airport, with more hubs planned in New York City.
New York has installed more than 17,000 public charging ports to date, second only to California.
