Sheltair Aviation has opened a new maintenance, repair, and overhaul hangar into service at Tampa International Airport, adding capacity for business and commercial aviation maintenance on the airport’s north airfield.

The completed facility spans 50,880 square feet of hangar space and includes an additional 8,344 square feet dedicated to office and shop functions. A 50,000-square-foot apron supports aircraft staging and fueling operations. The hangar accommodates large-cabin and narrow-body aircraft, including multiple Boeing Business Jets, and features a tail door system designed for larger airframes.

The building incorporates a foam fire suppression system that complies with National Fire Protection Association standards, enabling full MRO operations across a range of aircraft types. This development represents the airport’s ninth hangar complex. Sheltair last expanded its footprint at the airport in 2023 with the delivery of four additional hangars adjacent to its primary facility near the crosswind runway.

Construction is complete, and the hangar is now operational. The project expands on-airport maintenance capacity and supports continued growth in general aviation activity at Tampa International Airport.
