Metro Transit, serving the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area in Minnesota, is advancing the Arterial Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Plan Update, aiming to identify the next three BRT lines for development beyond 2027. With the E Line nearing its service launch, the agency is now focusing on the J, K, and L lines, projected to open between 2030 and 2035. These lines will further expand the Metro network.
The Arterial BRT Plan Update will narrow down the selection from 17 candidate corridors to the final J, K, and L lines. The selection process will involve a comprehensive technical evaluation, public feedback, and close coordination with cities, counties, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). The goal is to strategically select corridors that maximize transit efficiency and accessibility, contributing to the region’s overall transportation network.
