The Central Utah Water Conservancy District has selected a joint venture of Jacobs and Bowen Collins & Associates for the proposed $750 million Strawberry High Line Improvement Project. The team will provide engineering design and construction-phase support services.
The project will replace the historic Strawberry High Line Canal with a buried, pressurized pipeline system. Plans also include a new pump station and related water infrastructure. The aim is to convert the existing canal corridor into a regional trail after pipeline construction.The Department of the Interior allocated $100 million in federal funding to the project earlier this year.
The existing canal dates to 1916 and carries water from Strawberry Reservoir and the Spanish Fork River. The new system will serve agricultural and municipal users across southern Utah County and eastern Juab County. It will support water delivery for an estimated future population of about 420,000.
Construction could begin as early as 2027, with operations targeted for 2032.
