Ionna plans to invest more than $250 million in electric vehicle charging infrastructure across California over the next three years. The company announced the plan at events in San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, San Jose, and Westminster.

Ionna reports more than 1,000 charging bays contracted in California. Nationwide, it has contracted just over 4,000 bays, with more than 1,100 bays operating or under construction.

The Westminster site is the company’s first major California location. Ionna will also introduce an EV education program for new drivers. It will hold events at charging sites with local dealerships and EV groups.

Ionna’s Plug & Charge system works with vehicles from BMW, General Motors, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Rivian, and Ford. The company expects Honda, Stellantis, and Toyota to add compatibility by the end of 2026.
