The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded more than $20 million in fiscal year 2026 Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grants for infrastructure and safety upgrades at 24 airports across Mississippi.

The funding supports runway rehabilitation, taxiway improvements, terminal apron expansions, lighting upgrades, hangar construction, safety compliance work, navigational equipment purchases, and airport planning activities.

Tunica Municipal Airport received the largest allocation at $6.79 million for runway rehabilitation work. George M. Bryan Airport in Starkville received $4.25 million to extend an existing runway and taxiway, while Greenville Mid-Delta Airport secured $1.8 million for the final phase of Taxiway B rehabilitation.

The grants were awarded under the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program and meet Airport Safety and Resilient Infrastructure Development (ASRID) eligibility requirements established through the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025.

The projects aim to improve airport safety, operational reliability, infrastructure condition, and long-term aviation capacity across both large and small Mississippi communities.
