The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded more than $523 million in funding for airport infrastructure projects across 43 states. The agency issued 332 grants through the Airport Infrastructure Grants (AIG) program to support runway, terminal, taxiway, and airfield improvements.

The funding will finance a range of projects aimed at improving airport capacity, safety, and operational efficiency. Eligible uses include runway and taxiway rehabilitation, terminal modernization, baggage handling upgrades, roadway improvements, and sustainability initiatives.

Several large airports received significant awards. Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport secured $70 million for runway rehabilitation, while Charlotte Douglas International Airport received $46.9 million for apron expansion. Miami International Airport obtained $41.9 million for terminal reconstruction and fuel farm expansion.

Other major awards include $18.7 million for deicing facility improvements at Syracuse Hancock International Airport, $18.6 million for taxi lane construction at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and $18 million for taxiway pavement reconstruction at Philadelphia International Airport. Orlando Sanford International Airport received $16.2 million to extend a taxiway.

The grants were issued through the Airport Infrastructure Grants (AIG) program established under IIJA. The program provides $14.5 billion over five years for airport modernization projects nationwide. The latest awards represent the fifth and final installment of fiscal year 2026 funding.
