The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded $20.9 million in funding to support 21 airport infrastructure projects across North Dakota under the Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Improvement Program (AIP). The funding will support upgrades to runways, taxiways, terminals, and airside infrastructure at commercial and general aviation airports statewide.

The project scope includes terminal expansion at Hector International Airport, taxiway realignment at Minot International Airport, and runway and pavement rehabilitation at multiple regional and municipal airports. Several projects also include construction of aircraft storage hangars, upgrades to lighting and navigation systems, and replacement of snow removal equipment.

The investments aim to improve airfield safety, maintain infrastructure reliability, and support regional connectivity for passengers, cargo operations, and emergency services.
