DeKalb County has approved a $45 million contract with Sky Harbour Group to build eight aircraft hangars at DeKalb–Peachtree Airport (PDK). The development will occupy roughly 13 acres on the east side of the airfield. The contract follows a multi-year review and public engagement process.
Sky Harbour will design, construct, and operate the hangars under a long-term ground lease. County estimates project a 50-year financial impact of about $576 million, including ground lease payments to PDK and additional tax revenue for local jurisdictions. The project does not require county appropriations.
The county is conducting an air quality and noise study to evaluate potential impacts from the new hangars. Officials expect to complete the study in summer 2026. Preliminary findings indicate minimal impact.
