The Connecticut Department of Transportation has published a five-year Capital Plan outlining $15.7 billion in transportation projects planned statewide for federal fiscal years 2026 through 2030.
The plan programs projects across highways, bridges, public transit, rail, and transportation facilities. CTDOT expects to program approximately $3.78 billion in combined federal and state capital funding in fiscal year 2026.
For FY 2026, the plan allocates $2.16 billion to bus and rail projects and $1.60 billion to roadway and bridge infrastructure. Bus and rail investments include the MOVE New Haven bus rapid transit system, station upgrades along the Waterbury Branch Line and Hartford Line, and replacement of the Devon Railroad Bridge between Milford and Stratford. The plan also includes $23.4 million for transportation facilities, including expanded truck parking in Southington and a new maintenance facility in Simsbury.
CTDOT will accept public comments on the Capital Plan through February 15, 2026.
