CMA CGM Group and Stonepeak have agreed to form United Ports LLC, a joint venture to acquire a portfolio of 10 CMA CGM-operated container terminals across the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. The transaction covers terminals in Los Angeles and New York–New Jersey, as well as facilities in Brazil, Spain, India, Taiwan, and Vietnam. CMA CGM will retain operational control of all assets.

Stonepeak will invest $2.4 billion to acquire a 25% minority stake in United Ports LLC. CMA CGM will hold the remaining 75%. The companies structured the venture to support accelerated investment in terminal infrastructure and future expansion opportunities.

The partners expect the transaction to close in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory and antitrust approvals in relevant jurisdictions. As part of the agreement, Stonepeak will have the option to provide up to $3.6 billion in additional capital for future joint terminal projects.
