The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded $168.8 million through the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) to fund infrastructure projects at 46 airports across California. The AIP supports upgrades to runways, taxiways, lighting, signage, and terminal facilities.

Major awards include:

  • Monterey Regional Airport: $25.1 million to construct a new terminal, with this phase funding 16,625 square feet of the building.
  • Los Angeles International Airport: $22.8 million to extend a taxiway and install low-emission equipment, including 42 electric vehicle charging stations.
  • San Francisco International Airport: $16.8 million to rehabilitate 2,400 feet of a paved taxiway.
  • Camarillo Airport: $13.5 million to rehabilitate 6,013 feet of an existing runway.
  • Fresno Yosemite International Airport: $12.5 million to reconstruct 9,539 feet of runway, with this phase covering 1,866 feet.
  • Ontario International Airport: $10.8 million to reconstruct 5,526 feet of taxiway and add 24 ground power units.
  • Palm Springs International Airport: $8.0 million to begin terminal reconstruction with a new baggage handling system.

This round of AIP funding follows earlier 2025 announcements that delivered $158.4 million for 72 airports in August and $81.3 million for 18 airports in July.
