Brightspeed has received $110.7 million in federal Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) grants to expand fiber service in Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The funding will connect 19,222 homes and businesses, with North Carolina receiving the largest share at $90.6 million.
With this round, Brightspeed’s total BEAD funding reaches $332.8 million across 10 states, supporting service to nearly 93,000 locations. The company has also received $261 million from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and invested $128 million in private capital to expand access in the same four states.
Brightspeed is deploying fiber broadband to more than five million locations in 20 states. Service is already available to 630,000 homes and businesses.
