Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has advanced plans for its Concourse M expansion, unveiling new design details for the project. The facility will increase gate capacity and support ongoing terminal expansion work at the airport.

The project will deliver a 37,537-square-foot concourse on the west side of the airfield, separate from the Barbara Jordan Terminal. The facility will include six gates for narrow-body aircraft, including four contact gates and two walk-out gates. It will also feature passenger amenities such as restrooms, a pet relief area, and shaded outdoor spaces.

Passengers will access the concourse via shuttle service from the main terminal. The facility will operate as a temporary and supplemental concourse, maintaining gate capacity during construction of other expansion projects, including Concourse B and upgrades to Concourse A.

The project is currently in the design and pre-construction phase. A joint venture between Page (now part of Stantec) and Fentress Architects is leading design, while Hensel Phelps will deliver construction. Work is expected to begin later in 2026, with opening targeted for spring 2028.
