Anne Arundel County has approved a design-build contract with Ameresco, Inc. and the Resilience Authority of Annapolis to install EV charging infrastructure at ten County facilities.
Ameresco analyzed fleet operations, fueling data, and vehicle procurement plans to determine optimal charger capacity and locations. The managed charging design is expected to save about $350,000 annually in utility costs once the fleet is electrified.
The project will also reduce electrical capacity needs by 2.5 megawatts across the sites, lowering capital costs and improving long-term flexibility.
Installation will proceed in phases through 2026, matching the County’s vehicle acquisition schedule. Ameresco and local partners will complete engineering and construction work.
