EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) and Meta have signed a long-term power purchase agreement for the 250 MW Cypress Knee Solar project in Chicot County, Arkansas.
EDPR will develop and operate the utility-scale solar facility. The project will supply renewable electricity to support Meta’s U.S. operations and broader clean energy procurement strategy. Cypress Knee Solar represents the third power agreement between the two companies. Their combined contracted renewable energy capacity now totals 545 MW.
The project will contribute more than $25 million in additional revenue to Chicot County through an Industrial Revenue Bond agreement over the project’s operating life. Construction activity is expected to create several hundred temporary jobs. EDPR expects to complete the project in 2028, with commercial operations potentially beginning in 2027.
The development adds to a growing pipeline of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Arkansas and the broader Southeast region, where technology companies continue to secure long-term electricity supply agreements to support expanding data center and digital infrastructure operations.
