The Northwest Seaport Alliance has signed an interlocal agreement with the Port of Benton, Port of Pasco, and Port of Walla Walla to collaborate on development of an Inland Logistics Hub in southeastern Washington.
The proposed hub will be located in the Tri-Cities region and focus on expanding inland freight capacity to support international trade. The partners plan to leverage existing industrial-zoned land with access to Class I railroads, major highways, and inland waterways connected to coastal ports.
Planned logistics capabilities include intermodal rail transfer, warehousing, distribution facilities, and barge access via the Columbia–Snake River system. The effort builds on the Tri-Cities Intermodal rail service launched in 2024 at the Dodd Road Industrial Park.
The agreement establishes a framework for joint planning, coordinated marketing, alignment on land use and transportation planning, and collaborative pursuit of funding opportunities.
