The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) awarded a $3.8 million contract to improve four sections of North Carolina Highway 115 (N.C. 115) and three sections of secondary roads in Mecklenburg County. The project will cover about nine miles and includes milling, resurfacing, shoulder reconstruction, installing concrete curb ramps and driveways, and adding pavement markings and markers.
The following sections of N.C. 115/Old Statesville Road will undergo improvements:
- Iredell County line to Cornelius Street
- Independence Hill Drive to Hambright Road
- Hambright Road to Damson Drive
- Solstice Way to Vance Davis Drive
Crews will also improve segments of Asbury Chapel Road, Riverside Drive, and Washam Potts Road. Blythe Brothers Asphalt Co., LLC, the contractor, is expected to begin work by mid-February and complete the project by mid-2026.
