The Oklahoma Broadband Office (OBO) and Pine Telephone Company have launched four broadband expansion projects in southeastern Oklahoma, totaling $58.8 million in investment. The projects will deliver high-speed fiber-optic internet to 1,512 homes and businesses across Choctaw, Latimer, Le Flore, and McCurtain counties.

The projects are funded through $39.7 million in federal grants administered by OBO and $19.1 million in matching funds from Pine. The largest portion of the expansion will serve Choctaw County, including more than 1,200 locations in the rural community of Grant.

These deployments are part of a broader statewide initiative. To date, the Oklahoma Broadband Governing Board has awarded $525 million in grants, supporting over 180 broadband projects across 59 counties. When provider contributions are included, total investment exceeds $840 million and aims to connect more than 69,000 locations.

Pine Telephone will implement and operate the new fiber infrastructure.
