The West Virginia Division of Highways has opened bids for a bridge renovation project on Interstate 77 in Charleston as part of a statewide construction letting held on January 13, 2026.

The project will rehabilitate four interstate bridges: the Stadium Place Bridge, Greenbrier Street Bridge, Greenbrier Street Underpass, and Booker T. Washington Bridge. Planned work includes deck overlays and minor structural repairs to extend service life and improve safety. The bridges form part of a broader program to renovate or replace more than 35 bridges in and around the Charleston area.

WVDOH included the Interstate 77 bridge project among 34 transportation projects offered during the bid letting.  WVDOH will evaluate bids based on engineering estimates, pricing, and project need before awarding contracts. The agency expects to complete most bid reviews and awards within one week of the letting.
