The City of Alice, Texas, and Seven Seas Water Group have commissioned the state’s first public-private brackish water reverse osmosis desalination plant. The facility will provide up to 2.7 million gallons per day of potable water, strengthening local water security in a region affected by prolonged drought.
The project was developed through a public-private partnership between the City of Alice and Seven Seas Water Group under a Water-as-a-Service® model, enabling infrastructure delivery without upfront capital from the city. The Texas Water Development Board supported the project.
The plant uses reverse osmosis technology to treat brackish groundwater and is designed to deliver a long-term, drought-resilient water supply. It marks a scalable model for other Texas communities facing water scarcity.
The facility is now operational.
