Pacific Gas and Electric has awarded a $50 million contract to Granite for the replacement of the spillway at the Tiger Creek Regulator Dam in Amador County, California. The project forms part of PG&E’s Mokelumne River Hydroelectric Project and will improve the long-term safety and reliability of the 1931-era dam.
The project includes construction of a new spillway crest and chute to replace the existing structure. Granite will also install a temporary cofferdam, carry out excavation and rock anchoring, place mass and structural concrete, decommission the existing spillway, and construct a permanent access road to support future maintenance activities.
Construction began in May 2026 and is scheduled for completion in May 2028. Granite previously completed a $600,000 pre-construction contract in 2024 to support project planning and reviews.
