Pennsylvania American Water will begin the final phase of a $34 million water main replacement project along Becks Run Road on April 7. The project supports the Hays Mine Treatment Plant and includes the installation of new 42-inch water mains to enhance service for approximately 137,000 residents in Baldwin Borough and the City of Pittsburgh.

To date, nearly three miles of mains have been installed. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-summer. The investment also includes upgrades at the Hays Mine facility, such as new caustic tanks, solids handling equipment, and replacement of 16 filters essential for maintaining water quality.
