Pennsylvania American Water has launched a $10 million infrastructure upgrade to replace 4.8 miles of aging water mains across Washington and Allegheny counties. The work will improve service reliability, reduce disruptions, and increase water flow for firefighting.
Construction is underway in municipalities and crews are installing new ductile iron pipe. Crews expect to complete water main installation, service connections, and paving by late summer.
The project is part of the company’s broader statewide investment, which totaled $675 million in 2024 and supported more than 10,000 jobs.
