The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has awarded $9 million in federal funding for 12 electric vehicle charging projects across key travel corridors. The funding supports the Corridor Connections phase of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program.

The projects will install new EV charging stations along major highways to improve long-distance travel connectivity and expand access to charging infrastructure. Selected sites include locations in Berks, Bradford, Cambria, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lehigh, Northampton, Perry, and Tioga counties.

The program funds charging stations at existing commercial locations, including Sheetz, Wawa, hotels, and travel plazas. Private operators such as eCAMION USA, Universal EV LLC, and Raceway Management Company will develop and operate several of the sites.

The total investment for this phase is $9 million, funded through the federal NEVI program under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The announcement builds on approximately $54 million already committed to EV charging infrastructure across Pennsylvania.

Project development is underway, with multiple sites in planning and early construction stages. Pennsylvania has already deployed 30 NEVI-funded charging stations, with additional stations under development statewide.
