Parsons Corporation has been awarded a $60 million, six-year contract to provide design and construction-phase support for Phase 2B2 of the Foothill Gold Line project, extending the Metro A Line light rail system in Los Angeles County.

The contract covers final design and construction support for a 2.3-mile extension from Pomona to Claremont, advancing the project from approximately 30% design to approved-for-construction drawings.

The Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority awarded the contract following a competitive procurement process and is delivering the project using a construction manager at risk delivery method. Phase 2B2 completes the next segment of the Metro A Line and follows the Glendora-to-Pomona extension, which reached substantial completion in 2025.

The Construction Authority has begun procuring a construction manager. If negotiations succeed, construction is expected to begin in late 2027 or early 2028, with completion anticipated approximately four years later.

The extension will expand light rail service in eastern Los Angeles County by adding a new rail connection between Pomona and Claremont.
