The State of Ohio has awarded $78.8 million to support infrastructure improvements at and around Dayton International Airport. The funding, approved by the Ohio Controlling Board, comes from the All Ohio Future Fund and will support construction and rehabilitation projects aimed at attracting aerospace, defense, and logistics investment to the region.

The project includes $72 million for a new airport apron and rehabilitation of the existing apron, $9.9 million for taxiway improvements, and $14.3 million for surrounding roadway upgrades. The work will enhance access across more than 150 acres in Dayton, Union, and Butler Township. The total project cost is estimated at $96 million.

Airport officials confirmed that the new infrastructure will build on ongoing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations and support additional strategic expansions under consideration by existing tenants.

The funding is part of the All Ohio Future Fund, a $750 million statewide initiative created in the 2024–2025 budget cycle to prepare development sites across Ohio. The Ohio Department of Development is administering the program and received over 40 applications in this round, with Dayton among four approved recipients.

Companies already operating or expanding near Dayton International Airport include Sierra Nevada Corporation, which has opened two hangars and is building two more; Joby Aviation, which is constructing a new electric aircraft component facility; and Amazon and Crocs, which operate nearby distribution centers.
