Ohio has allocated $97.2 million for 39 roadway safety projects through the Highway Safety Improvement Program. The funding supports safety upgrades across multiple regions of the state. Projects will receive funding during state fiscal years 2026 through 2031.
Planned improvements include construction of roundabouts, intersection redesigns, roadway reconfigurations, turn lanes, sidewalk connections, shared-use paths, and upgrades to signage and pavement markings. The projects target locations with elevated crash risk.
Funded projects include more than $5.28 million for a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Yale and Alliance roads in Portage County, with construction planned for 2030. Stark County will receive $4.46 million for a roundabout at State Route 173 and Columbus Road, also scheduled for 2030.
