Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport has begun construction on a new 80,000-square-foot North Terminal expansion in Panama City, Florida. The project marks the start of a three-phase terminal expansion program.
The expansion will add three airline gates, six airline baggage offices, and four additional baggage claim carousels. The terminal will include new concessions, restrooms, expanded passenger seating, and vertical circulation connecting two levels.
The project also includes relocation and expansion of the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint to increase screening capacity. Phase one will establish the building structure and envelope. Later phases will complete interior construction and activate passenger-facing facilities.
State and federal agencies, regional partners, airline partners, and the airport are funding the project. The expansion increases terminal capacity as passenger volumes approach two million annually.
