The New Mexico Office of Broadband Access and Expansion has released its Three-Year Statewide Broadband Plan outlining strategies to expand high-speed internet access from 2026 through 2028. The plan provides a framework for statewide planning, funding coordination, and program delivery.

The plan identifies four program goals: universal availability, widespread adoption, next-generation advancement, and program stewardship. It also sets six strategic priorities covering statewide connectivity, affordability, infrastructure development, data and permitting, digital opportunity, and network operations.

State officials estimate that about 90% of New Mexico currently has access to high-speed internet. The plan targets full statewide coverage by guiding infrastructure deployment and adoption efforts, particularly in unserved and underserved areas. The Office developed the plan with input from the Connect New Mexico Council and broadband stakeholders across the state.
