The Indian Health Service (IHS) has allocated $700 million in funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act for 67 clean drinking water and sanitation infrastructure projects on tribal lands.

Overall, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provides $3.5 billion to develop tribal water infrastructure, including drinking water sources, sewage systems, and solid waste disposal facilities. In the first three years of BIL funding, the IHS supported over 765 construction projects across all IHS areas
