The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) has selected Itselectric to deploy 90 new public curbside EV charging ports across the city over the next 12 months. The program will expand neighborhood charging access and convert former BlueLA carshare sites to public use.
The first 15 chargers will open in November and December at three Koreatown locations: West 1st Street, South Harvard Boulevard, and South Virgil Avenue. The stations will provide Level-2 charging through 240-volt AC outlets.
The deployment will include chargers that use detachable cables designed to reduce theft and vandalism. Drivers using the network will receive compatible cables from Itselectric.
LADOT and Itselectric will repurpose existing BlueLA charging assets, which previously supported an electric carshare program that ended earlier this year. The new installations will provide public charging at curbside locations where residents park.
The full 90-port rollout will continue through 2026. The agreement does not include construction costs or funding details.
