The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD) is set to begin construction for a $5.2 million project along Louisiana Highway (La.) 3277 (George Soileau Rd.) extending from La. 757 to La. 104 in Evangeline Parish from January 6, 2025. The anticipated completion date for the project is August 2025.
This project, spanning 4.9 miles, will involve milling of asphaltic concrete, subgrade treatment, rehabilitation of the in-place base, patching, asphalt overlay, replacement of drainage structures, installation of guard rails, addition of rumble strips, striping, and other related activities. Work is scheduled to occur from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., contingent upon weather conditions. To facilitate the construction, intermittent lane closures will be necessary, and drivers should anticipate potential delays.
The roadway will remain accessible to regular traffic, with a maximum lane restriction of 12 feet for oversized vehicles traversing the work zone. Emergency vehicles will be permitted access through the area, although they may experience delays.
