Massport has approved plans for JetBlue and Vantage Group to advance a more than $1 billion redevelopment of Terminal C at Boston Logan International Airport. The project will modernize the terminal, expand passenger space, and improve aircraft operations under a long-term lease agreement between JetBlue and Massport.
The redevelopment will expand Terminal C from approximately 220,000 square feet to 300,000 square feet. Plans include higher ceilings, new skylights, additional gates, expanded seating areas, updated passenger amenities, and more retail and dining space. The project will also reconfigure the terminal’s exterior to improve aircraft taxiing efficiency and accommodate larger aircraft.
JetBlue and Vantage Group will finance the redevelopment, while Massport will retain ownership of the terminal under a lease expected to run for 30 to 35 years. Terminal C currently handles about 30% of passenger traffic at Boston Logan Airport. The redevelopment will preserve existing Terminal C tenants, including Aer Lingus, Cape Air, TAP Air Portugal, and Etihad Airways. Existing facilities, including the American Express Centurion Lounge and the new JetBlue lounge, will remain in place.
