Jacobs has been selected by the San Diego Association of Governments to manage construction of the San Dieguito Lagoon Double Track and Special Events Platform project in Southern California.
The project will add 2.1 miles of double track along the Los Angeles–San Diego–San Luis Obispo rail corridor. The work targets a long-standing bottleneck between Solana Beach and the Del Mar Fairgrounds that limits rail capacity and service reliability.
Jacobs will oversee construction of a new double-track segment and a special events platform designed to improve passenger access during large-scale events. The scope also includes replacement of the San Dieguito Lagoon rail bridge to improve climate resilience and long-term structural performance. Additional upgrades include improvements to rail turnouts, signaling, communications, and drainage systems.
